CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – A few isolated strong to severe storms still possible tonight. First Alert Weather Days continue through Friday for more heat, humidity and the threat for some more severe storms.

Another hot and humid day Friday with high in the low to mid 90s and combined with the humidity, the real feel temperatures or heat index values between 100-105 for Central Virginia and mid 90s to around 100 for the Shenandoah Valley. Another Heat Advisory may be issued for parts of Central Virginia. Regardless, take all those steps to stay cool and hydrate with plenty of water. Limit time outdoors during the hottest part of the day, seek air conditioning and check on the elderly and pets.
A slow-moving cold front, along with instability from the heat, will trigger strong to severe storms Friday. Scattered coverage expected. A level 2 out of 5, “slight” risk for severe storms. The main threats damaging wind gusts 60-70 mph and some spotty large hail. In addition to some locally heavy rain and frequent lightning.
