CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Clarksville Police Department has terminated an officer after completing an internal investigation and disciplinary process following the arrest and death of Darius Chappell.
According to the CPD, Officer Steven Deering is no longer employed by the department as of Tuesday, Sept. 1.

District Attorney General Robert Nash confirmed with News 2 Deering’s termination was due to the investigation of the arrest and death of Chappell.
