CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) — Chatham County Sheriff Richard Coleman told WSAV Thursday that a previously announced manhunt for a suspect ended with an arrest and felony charges.
Lenny Hampton, 47, was arrested around 11:30 a.m. at a motel on I-17, the sheriff said. Hampton was charged with felony obstruction, aggravated stalking, tampering with an electronic device (ankle monitor) and possession of cocaine with fentanyl.
Sheriff Coleman said the search for Hampton began after a local woman notified the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office about Hampton and expressed her fear.
Hampton previously faced charges of aggravated stalking and aggravated assault in connection with the woman, the sheriff said. Hampton had allegedly thrown bricks at her house and texted her son with threats saying he was going to “hit her house.”…
