DUBLIN, Ohio (WCMH) — A proposed senior living development in Dublin is drawing opposition from nearby homeowners, who said the project’s size and style conflict with the city’s long-standing vision for one of its older residential areas.
Sentry Land Company presented its latest concept to the Dublin Planning and Zoning Commission last month. The proposal calls for roughly 175 senior apartments and 19 single-story villas on 17.6 acres southwest of the intersection of Bright Road and Emerald Parkway, adjacent to Hopewell Elementary School. The community would include independent living, assisted living and memory care.
The project remains in the concept plan stage, where commission feedback is nonbinding. It would next need to advance through rezoning and preliminary development plan review before final development plan review.
The city told NBC4 it has not received an application for the next stage. A new hearing date will be scheduled only after one is submitted and reviewed by staff. See the latest headlines from NBC4 in the video player above.
