RICHMOND, CA — Video and DNA evidence resulted in the arrest of armed robbery suspect Alfonso M. Del Rio, 32, of Richmond, on September 1. Del Rio who is a landscaper allegedly robbed the victim outside a bank on May 20, before fleeing on a bicycle.
The robbery occurred at a Bank of America branch on Hilltop Mall Road. It was recorded on surveillance video. DNA evidence identifying Del Rio as the suspect was obtained from an abandoned bicycle recovered near the bank.
A prepared statement from the Richmond Police Department said. “The suspect pointed a fireman at a woman and demanded her purse, fired a round into the air, and forced her to the ground. The victim suffered minor injuries.”…
