German rock legends Scorpions have announced a postponement of their much-anticipated 2026 Las Vegas residency at PH Live, Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Originally scheduled to run from September 17 through October 3, with Buckcherry as the opening act, the residency will now take place in September 2027. Live Nation, the global entertainment company behind the show, cited “unforeseen circumstances” as the reason for the delay.
The band expressed their regret in a social media statement: “Scorpions regret to announce that, due to unforeseen circumstances, their upcoming September shows in Las Vegas will need to be postponed. The band is extremely disappointed but looks forward to returning to Las Vegas in September 2027.”
On Thursday, Scorpions followed up with an official apology and updated their fans on the revised dates not only for Las Vegas but also for their postponed concerts in Mexico, originally planned for this month. They assured ticket holders that all purchased tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled shows, and refunds will be available for those unable to attend.
The delayed residency was meant to be an extension of their ongoing “Coming Home – 60 Years Of Scorpions Tour.” The band has enjoyed three sold-out residencies at Planet Hollywood in 2022, 2024, and 2025, making them a familiar and beloved presence in Las Vegas.
Frontman Klaus Meine, while on the “Rock Believer Tour,” had hinted at the special anniversary celebrations back in 2022, emphasizing the enduring spirit of rock music despite changing trends. “There are millions of rock believers out there,” he remarked, looking forward to the 60th anniversary shows in 2024 and 2025.
Formed in Hanover, Germany, in 1965 by guitarist Rudolf Schenker and friends, Scorpions evolved from a cover band into an internationally acclaimed metal group. They released their debut album, Lonesome Crow, in 1972, and after a brief hiatus, returned with Fly to the Rainbow, gaining mainstream success. Over six decades, they have released 19 studio albums, with the most recent being Rock Believer in 2022, accompanied by a live album commemorating their anniversary.
Reflecting on their longevity, Schenker shared in a 2016 interview, “People told me it wouldn’t last more than a few years, but we proved them wrong.” The band’s commitment to rock music has clearly stood the test of time.
For fans with tickets to the postponed shows, the new Las Vegas residency dates are set for September 9, 11, 14, 16, 18, 21, 23, and 25, 2027. Refunds remain available at the original point of purchase for those who cannot attend.
