CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) – Drivers heading out for Labor Day weekend should prepare for heavy traffic, especially along I-16 and I-95, as more people hit the road to spend time with family and friends.
The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) says Atlanta, Macon and Savannah are expected to be three major travel hotspots across Georgia.
“What we’ve done as the department to improve safety and mobility for people trying to enjoy the weekend and get to where they’re going is we’ve suspended all lane closures,” Jill Nagel with GDOT said. “It started today at 12 noon and it will go into effect and stay in effect until 5 a.m. Tuesday, September 8th.”…
