Massachusetts State Police announced Friday that its next recruit class will begin training Oct. 26, following a months-long delay to implement academy reforms ordered after the 2024 death of recruit Enrique Delgado-Garcia, while an outside consulting firm will monitor the changes and publicly report on the agency’s progress.
PFM Group Consulting, a Pennsylvania-based firm with a Boston office, will monitor the implementation of the International Association of Chiefs of Police’s (IACP) 103 recommendations released in May after a sweeping review of academy practices.
