A Canyon County man will spend the rest of his life in prison for a wrong-way, drunken-driving crash on Interstate 84 that killed 20-year-old Gabriela Gonzales and injured two other people.
The Canyon County Prosecutor’s Office says Kaleb Lancaster was sentenced to life in prison with 26 years before he becomes eligible for parole.
Prosecutors say the crash happened Feb. 6, 2026, when Lancaster got behind the wheel of a Ford F-250 with a blood alcohol content of .253, more than three times the legal limit, and drove the wrong way on I-84 between Nampa and Caldwell. Authorities said he struck a sedan driven by Gonzales’ boyfriend. Gonzales, who was a passenger in the car, was killed, and her boyfriend was seriously injured.
