MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – The Montgomery City Council has passed a new ordinance to regulate short-term rentals, including Airbnbs and VRBOs, after ongoing complaints about loud parties and residential disruptions.
Parties at short-term rental properties have become a growing issue in cities nationwide, including Montgomery. Recently, neighbors in the Arrowhead subdivision shared video footage with WSFA 12 News showing a large Airbnb party that grew out of control, blocking local streets.
City officials hope the new guidelines will address these safety and zoning concerns while maintaining a fair environment for responsible hosts…
