The first week of school was cut short for students at Sandburg Middle School. The district opted to cancel classes for Friday, Sep. 4, citing high temperatures and an abundance of caution.
Sandburg, which is located in Golden Valley, has students in grades 6-8. Community members shared concerns about high temperatures on social media. A district representative said parts for the HVAC system were delayed, and more problems arose when the chiller pump was installed in the system. The HVAC system is now up and running.
