Earlier this year, Rodriguez took a plea deal, and on Friday, he was sentenced to 23 years behind bars. During his sentencing, the family of the victim spoke out. “There is something incredibly painful about knowing that Michael spent so much of his life looking out for the people he loved. But when his own life was in danger, these defendants chose to treat his life like it didn’t matter.”
