The run game was rolling. Of the 645 yards of total offense for South Carolina in the 57-0 win over Kent State, 278 yards came on the ground. Every back averaged at least 5.4 yards per carry and all five had at least four carries.
It was a beautiful afternoon for the Gamecocks (1-0) on the ground in lopsided win that saw eight straight touchdown drives after a punt to open the season. Four of the touchdowns came on the ground – two by Jabree Coleman, one by Matt Fuller and the other by Isaiah Augustave – with the offensive line paving the way for the success.
