BROOKSVILLE – Defense was the name of the game on Friday night as the Nature Coast Tech Sharks (2-1) fell to the Tampa Catholic Crusaders (3-0) by a 7-0 margin on Labor Day weekend.
The teams combined for three goal line stands (one forced by Nature Coast, two by Tampa Catholic), four turnovers on downs (three by Nature Coast, one by Tampa), and twenty-six penalties in the Crusaders’ low-scoring win over the Columbia Blue. Sharks Head Coach Chris Hawley took responsibility for the tough loss and gave the visitors kudos after the game.
“Tampa Catholic is really freaking good,” Coach Hawley said. “The good news is we are too. I have to do my part offensively to just put our kids in a little better position. They had a lot of chances that we just couldn’t punch in… The entire thing just needs to be on me. It doesn’t need to be on them. It doesn’t need to be on anybody else. I got to do a better job of getting kids in a better position to make sure that they can do the things that make them great.”…
