NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Overall, your Saturday won’t be a washout, but there’s the chance that some showers and thunderstorms could interfere with your Tiger festivities.
Getting right into FUTURECAST: Storms will be over Baton Rouge between 5-8 p.m. so be on-guard at least to about half-time that you may need the rain jacket or poncho on-and-off, but after that timeframe any rain should be clearing out leaving behind some clouds.
Shortly after 5 p.m., the National Weather Service said, “Watching for the next area of development between I-10 and I-12 mainly from Baton Rouge to Prairieville. Multiple outflow boundaries will come together likely leading to new thunderstorm development through 630pm. This could impact the national televised LSU/Clemson game. Cloud to ground lightning would be the greatest concern however gusty winds to 40-mph and locally heavy rain will also be a concern.”
As for the rest of the area, the South Shore and I-10/I-12 corridor will be the areas who see any showers and thunderstorms until about 8 p.m. with things clearing out afterwards so your night out on the town should be a go!
