A house fire on the afternoon of Aug. 31 in Pleasant View killed a family dog and caused extensive damage to a home in the Sycamore Trace subdivision.
Firefighters from the Pleasant View Volunteer Fire Department and Ashland City Fire Department responded to the 9000 block of War Eagles Way after a report of a house fire. They found flames engulfing the back and sides of the residence.
Pleasant View Volunteer Fire Department Lt. Joseph Decker said crews of approximately 10 firefighters got the fire under control in around 20 minutes. One woman Decker believed to be housesitting was at the residence at the time and was not injured, but a dog in a back room of the house perished in the fire…
