INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indianapolis Fire Department says no one was hurt when a fire broke out at a downtown tavern and left the building with “significant damage.”
Firefighters arrived at the Whistle Stop Inn at Illinois and South streets just before 10 p.m., where they saw large amounts of smoke coming from inside.
IFD says there was apparently “heavy electrical arcing presenting from the basement”; crews worked with AES to shut off power to the tavern and “isolate the building from the grid.”…
