Locals are all too familiar with the summer and early fall lull in the Naples restaurant scene. Dining rooms are emptier, restaurants have shorter hours, and there’s often summer special to incentivize guests to dine out. While dining deals may seem like a win to patrons, this time of year is notoriously hard on local restaurants and their teams. That’s why events like Sizzle Dining were created: to keep restaurants afloat during the toughest months.
Local chef and restaurant owner Kayla Pfeiffer is no stranger to the seasonal slow down. She operates three culinary concepts in Naples: Bicyclette Cookshop in North Naples, grab-and-go sandwich shop Thank You Kindly, and her newest and most experimental venture Heyday Cookshop. This year, Pfeiffer and her team came up with an idea that emphasizes the idea of community between local restaurants in a meaningful way.
“It’s scary how slow it gets and how we really do rely on that local demographic to come and visit our restaurants,” Pfeiffer said. “It’s never about a competition about which restaurants are better. It’s just about how we can support each other.”…
