Yogesh “Aadi” Dangol, a 48-year-old resident of Queens Village, New York, had returned to his birthplace in Betrawati, Nepal, for the first time in years.
He was there on Aug. 26 when a devastating flash flood swept through the town, killing more than 1,350 people and leaving nearly 4,000 others missing, according to figures cited by Dangol.
