A new group led by the state Bureau of Services for Blind Persons brought students, families, and mobility instructors across the five-mile span, capping months of training in Lansing

Organized by Michigan’s Bureau of Services for Blind Persons, it brought together students, families and mobility instructors from across the state, most of them blind or living with low vision.
“It’s a group of students that work with the services for the blind, and they are blind themselves,” said Mike Pemble, director of the bureau. “This is part of their orientation and mobility skills training, and this is the first time for our bureau to sponsor a group to walk the Mackinac Bridge.”…
