ELMORE COUNTY, Ala. (WBMA) — The Elmore County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating William Austin Mathews, who has been reported missing from Wetumpka.
According to CrimeStoppers, deputies responded Aug. 31 to the Nixon’s Nook area after Mathews was reported missing by his parents. His father told authorities he last saw Mathews at their residence at approximately 11 a.m. on Aug. 29.
Video surveillance later showed Mathews walking away from the residence near Ellis Road at approximately noon that day. Authorities said the footage indicated he appeared to leave on his own…
