A 23-year-old man who allegedly crashed head-on into a Sumter County school bus while fleeing from a traffic stop in The Villages has been formally charged.
Qahiem Talik Williams continues to be held without bond at the Sumter County Detention Center following the dramatic Aug. 25 incident.
Williams is facing a lengthy list of charges, including aggravated fleeing with injury or damage, leaving the scene of a crash, driving with a suspended license, reckless driving resulting in property damage, resisting an officer and possession of marijuana. In addition to the charges stemming from the crash, the sheriff’s office noted he had multiple outstanding warrants out of Sumter County.
