Enforcement of new rules for Texas sales of hemp-derived products can continue, a state District Court judge in Austin said, threatening an industry estimated to be worth $5 billion statewide.
Judge Maya Guerra Gamble denied a request from a San Antonio company and three others for a temporary restraining order barring enforcement while their lawsuit over the state’s crackdown on delta-8 products continues. They argue the state overstepped with the rules, which the companies said expanded the list of barred substances beyond what the Legislature intended.
