NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The daughter of the former Montgomery County sheriff was granted a hearing Tuesday for a new trial after she was sentenced to 20 years for the abuse of a child in her care.
The case involves Sarah Fuson, daughter of former Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson. Back in December, she was sentenced to 20 years for abusing a child. She is not eligible for parole due to a new law in Tennessee for those found guilty of child abuse and neglect.

A jury found Sarah guilty of child abuse after video surveillance showed her slamming a child onto a cot at a daycare where she was working, causing the child to sustain a suspected skull fracture.
“Your honor, I ask the court to remember that behind this case is a real child. A baby who was frightened, abused, and betrayed,” said Macy Hyde, mother of the victim, during sentencing in December. “I ask the court to fully understand the deep, lasting harm that this has caused to Olivia and our family. She deserved to feel safe, she deserved to be protected.”…
