2 Florida men sentenced in $34.8M Medicare fraud scheme

Two Florida men have been sentenced to prison for their roles in a $34.8 million healthcare fraud conspiracy involving medically unnecessary orthotic braces billed to Medicare.

Kenneth Kessler III, of Miami, was sentenced to 33 months in prison.

Michael Gomez, of Miramar, Fla., was sentenced to 24 months in prison, according to a Sept. 4 Justice Department news release…
