LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Democratic candidate for governor Jocelyn Benson said she would use data the state already collects to keep residents enrolled in Medicaid rather than requiring them to repeatedly reverify their eligibility, during a Tuesday healthcare roundtable in south Lansing.
Benson, Michigan’s secretary of state, said she has begun discussing the approach with other governors. She also said she would open state outreach sites in communities to sign people up in person, comparing the idea to changes she made at Secretary of State branch offices.
