SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A prison inmate sentenced to life in prison died Tuesday after a brief medical issue, the South Dakota Department of Corrections said in a news release.
Michael Kaiser, 64, died at a hospital, according to the DOC. Kaiser had been sentenced to two concurrent terms of life without the possibility of parole for an incident in Day County. The DOC said Kaiser was assigned to the South Dakota State Penitentiary.
Kaiser was convicted of conspiring with another man to kill the then-Kaiser’s ex-wife as well as the ex-wife’s boyfriend, according to court documents posted online.
