Teen crash deaths rise in Michigan, the work to curb the trend

Michigan teen drivers were involved in more crashes in 2025 than the year before, and deadly crashes also increased.

According to data gathered by Local 4, 115 teens died in crashes in 2025, up from 104 in 2024. The number of teen drivers involved in crashes also ticked up, though it remained below the peak recorded in 2021.
