“God opens doors for us that we don’t expect,” said Matt Shapton, pastor of the Community Church in Babcock Ranch. And the door Shapton cannot wait to step through this fall is one he has been working toward for the past six years. It will lead him, his congregation and the community into a dedicated new place of worship. Located on Community Drive, the new building represents the first permanent church constructed in Babcock Ranch.
“I don’t think, I’ll walk through the doorway — it will be more like a leap,” Shapton said. “I’ve raised four children, but creating this church is far and above the hardest thing I’ve been involved in. It was possible because we had a lot of help and community partners along the way.”…
