MICHIGAN — The National Weather Service in Detroit and Pontiac has released the confirmed path of an EF2 tornado that touched down in Detroit between 4:14 p.m. and 4:18 p.m. EDT on September 3rd, 2026, marking Michigan’s 29th tornado of the year. The tornado tracked 3.5 miles through the United States portion of its path, remained on the ground into Windsor, Ontario, reached a maximum width of half a mile, and produced estimated wind speeds of 115 mph. One serious injury involving a dislocated shoulder and glass-related lacerations was reported, though no deaths occurred.
Tornado Touches Down Along Hancock Road Snapping Trees and Damaging Buildings
