MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Shelby County commissioners are considering a massive multi-million-dollar contract for inmate health care. The contract would bring in a new medical provider for the county’s jails.
This has been an issue WREG has continued to follow, and now the county is moving from Wellpath to Wexford Health Sources, with contract considerations up for discussion.
The contract covers medical services at the Shelby County Jail, Jail East, and the Youth Justice Education Center.
