Richmond man charged with murdering family in house fire enters plea

MARTINEZ, Calif. (KRON) — A man who is charged with murdering four of his family members by igniting their Richmond house on fire appeared in court on Tuesday and pleaded not guilty.

Sergio Rivera-Vega, 32, is charged with murdering his father, sister, nephew, and niece in the August 18 arson blaze. The youngest victim in the tragedy was a 2-year-old girl, Arlette Rivera-Vega.
