A new era has begun for Dickson County government.
Close to 300 people attended the swearing in ceremony for Dickson County leaders at the historic Ruskin Cave on Aug. 30. The ceremony symbolized a new chapter in county history with the transfer of the reins from Bob Rial, the longstanding four-term county mayor, to newly elected County Mayor Danny Williams, a former 10th District county commissioner and White Bluff mayor.
Rial served as master of ceremonies. Dickson County JROTC Cougar Battalion performed the presentation of colors. The Dickson County High School Chamber Ensemble performed the national anthem. Dickson Municipal Judge Stan Reynolds, Dickson County General Sessions Judge Craig Monsue, Dickson County Juvenile Court Judge Jerred Creasy and Rial administered the oaths of office to the incoming officials.
