INDIANAPOLIS— Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) Chairman Anthony Swinger confirmed to FOX59/CBS4 on Wednesday that his agency will investigate NIPSCO following devastating power outages in Northwest Indiana last month.
“We will take a balanced look at what happened, and what may have been done in preparation for the storms, how the storms were handled—looking at it from a managerial angle,” Chairman Swinger said.

According to the chairman, the IURC will set deadlines for both NIPSCO and consumer advocates to file testimony (as well as a date for a hearing) in the coming weeks.
“We don’t have a concrete date at this point,” Chairman Swinger said. “We are going to do our job diligently here. We’re going to make sure that we do this carefully—that we give it a thorough examination.”…
