For those who rely on public transit for day-to-day transportation, service cuts can mean not being able to get to work, school, and other essential obligations.
Perhaps it should come as no surprise then that when the local transit authority in Pinellas County, Fla., proposed eliminating certain routes, residents showed up in droves to protest the changes.
Here’s what to know
According to FOX 13, the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority had placed six different routes under review. These included Routes 16, 58, and 90, as well as the Grouper Airport Shuttle and Snapper service in Safety Harbor and Clearwater.
