CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville Police Department and Centerstone, the nonprofit health organization, have received a $750,000 annual grant, which will run over the course of four years, with the goal of expanding mobile crisis co-response services for children, youth and adults in Clarksville.
Once the program has been established, upon requesting for a co-response mobile crisis team, a two-person team comprised of a Centerstone Response Specialist and available law enforcement officers would be dispatched to the scene, according to a city news release from Communications Director Jimmy Settle.
Clarksville was awarded one of 17 such grants nationally and is the only location in Tennessee to receive it. “The purpose of this program is to establish new, or enhance existing, mobile crisis teams that serve children, youth, and adults experiencing mental health or substance use crises,” said the release…
