SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – A wet stretch continues across the Suncoast, with rounds of thunderstorms capable of producing heavy rain. The Suncoast will reach the upper 80s near the beaches and lower 90s inland Thursday, with the best chance of storms during the afternoon and evening. The pattern remains the same. Storm buildiing in the late afternoon inland will have a slow drift toward the coast. The most rain will likley fall inland.
Friday through Sunday looks wetter. Repeated rounds of thunderstorms could drop several inches of rain in some coastal areas. Localized flooding will become a bigger concern where heavy rain repeatedly hits the same areas. Inland communities will also see frequent afternoon and evening storms. This increase in rainfall will be due to the arrival of deep tropical moisture from the south.
Rain chances begin to ease somewhat Monday and Tuesday, but scattered afternoon storms remain possible. Temperatures stay near normal, with highs in the upper 80s along the coast and around 90 to the lower 90s inland…
