LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – The Salvation Army answered the bell in the aftermath of the attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
Retired Major Robert Reel of the Salvation Army of Lancaster was called to Ground Zero to serve. He was then serving in New York State as Major of the Rochester, Monroe County Salvation Army, when he received a phone call.

“I went back to my office and got a call asking if I would go to New York City and serve in the disaster in some capacity,” he told abc27.
