The developer behind a new, 103-acre residential community in southwest Ocala is asking county commissioners to significantly scale back the project, replacing the approved 621-unit townhome and villa development with 337 single-family, detached homes.
The request for Cypress Pointe, located south and west of SW 95th Street Road in the Liberty Triangle area, will be presented to the Marion County Board of County Commissioners as a planning and zoning consent agenda item during its regular meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
As a consent agenda item, the request is slated for approval in a single vote alongside other routine business unless it is pulled for separate discussion.
