A bail bondsman was shot but is expected to survive, while two Pasco Sheriff’s Office deputies were saved by a tactical shield in a shooting incident that ultimately led to the suspect taking his own life.
Three bail bondsmen attempted to take Henry Josena, 29, into custody around midnight on Thursday at The Enclave apartments in Wesley Chapel. Josena had failed to appear in court in Hillsborough County for lewd and lascivious charges.
Josena shot one bail bondsman, who escaped the apartment with the help of another bail bondsman while the third remained caught in the apartment. PSO deputies responded at 12:58 a.m. After some initial confusion when Josena’s brother came out of the apartment and was erroneously taken into custody, deputies entered the apartment with a tactical shield and were also shot at by Josena.
