WATCH: 5-week-old kitten rescued off side of busy interstate in Hillsborough County

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A 5-week-old kitten has a new home after being rescued off the side of a busy interstate in Hillsborough County.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said deputies found the kitten stranded on the side of I-275 on Sept. 8 after a good Samaritan called law enforcement to get the scared feline help.

The heartwarming rescue was captured on a Hillsborough County deputy’s body-worn camera.

“My precious baby! Oh my goodness. It’s OK,” the deputy could be heard saying as she approached the tiny black kitten.

However, as the deputy got closer, the kitten dashed off, running alongside the road while multiple cars passed by. The deputy chased after the kitten, yelling, “No, no, no, don’t run out in traffic.”…
