PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Look for sunny skies and a high of 106 degrees in the Valley this afternoon. While this is down several degrees from the past few days and the Extreme Heat Warning has ended, 106 is still 4 degrees above normal.
Our cooling trend continues a bit into the weekend as high pressure shifts away from Arizona and weakens. This should bring afternoon highs down to about 104 degrees for Saturday and Sunday. Humidity levels will continue to stay elevated.
Storm chances are near 10 percent this evening and overnight for the Valley, with chances climbing a bit to 30 percent Saturday night. Rain and thunderstorm chances climb to 40 percent by Monday night and continue to stay elevated for Tuesday and Wednesday. Heavy rain and strong storms are possible next week…
