Albany woman charged after Grand Street stabbing

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Police arrested 47-year-old Tikia Wright of Albany on September 10 as a result of an assault investigation. The incident took place just before 4 p.m. on Grand Street near Wilbur Street.

Officers responding to reports of a stabbing in the area on Thursday found a 47-year-old man with a knife wound to his arm. The victim was tended to at the scene before being taken to Albany Medical Center to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Albany Police determined that Wright allegedly slashed the victim amid a dispute between the two prior to officers arriving. She was taken into custody at the scene and was charged with second-degree assault and third-degree criminal mischief. The Albany woman is slated to appear in Albany City Criminal Court on Friday.
