Eastern Michigan University pool to close next spring without ‘significant philanthropy’

YPSILANTI, MI – A major Eastern Michigan University asset ― one that’s supported both institutional and community swim programs ― is slated to close this spring after more than 40 years amid a lack of financing.

According to a statement from the university, EMU’s Jones Natatorium will remain open through the 2026-27 competitive season before ceasing operations after May 9, 2027.
