BUTNER, N.C. (WNCT) — An inmate at a correctional facility has died from a potential suicide.
According to Granville Correctional Institution, Johnny A. Church was found unresponsive in his cell around 10:50 am. Prison officers, medical staff, and EMS were called to assist. However, Church was pronounced dead shortly after.
Church had been admitted to Granville Correctional Institution on Aug. 19 from Caldwell County. The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) has been notified of the death and is conducting an investigation. The Department of Correction will be conducting an internal investigation…
