The Rouge Gateway Greenway installed its first pedestrian bridge. It’s part of a 1.9-mile extension through Dearborn that’s slated to wrap up by late 2026. The $6.9 million project will link the trail from just west of Evergreen Road and north of Michigan Avenue to Village Road near The Henry Ford.
A second bridge goes in by September’s end. The new section will feature a paved multiuse trail and two pedestrian bridges for walkers, runners, and cyclists.
The expansion arrives more than two decades after the original trail reached Michigan Avenue. Phase 1 of the greenway, which connected Hines Drive with Dearborn’s west Michigan Avenue retail area, was finished in 2005 after the master plan was completed in 2001…
