SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Chatham County staff presented the proposed new short-term rental (STR) ordinances on Friday to the Chatham County Board of Commissioners.
The commissioners placed a 120-day moratorium on accepting new STRs on July 10. Since, staff said they’ve been mapping out districts and figuring out how to enforce within each one.
The new “occupants and parking rules” would require properties on a septic tank to only allow two people per bedroom, per Chatham County Health Department (CCHD). The definition of a bedroom was also added, as well as a cap on number of occupants in each STR based on fire codes…
