FRANKFORT, Ill. — An Illinois mother charged with murdering her 2-year-old son had recently become intensely focused on the Lindsay Clancy murder trial and was discussing the case with friends just hours before her son was found dead, according to court records obtained by Iowa Pulse.
Corie A. Walsh, 40, of Frankfort, is charged with three counts of first-degree murder in the death of her son, Barrett Walsh. The criminal complaint alleges Walsh caused the toddler’s death by asphyxia through ligature compression of his neck on Sept. 1.
The most detailed allegations appear in a petition filed by Will County prosecutors seeking to keep Walsh detained before trial.
