PLAINWELL, MI — It’s been almost 26 years since the Plainwell Paper Mill declared bankruptcy and closed its doors in November 2000.
After being in operation for 114 years, first as the Michigan Paper Co. and later as Hamilton Paper and Simpson Paper, the mill has sat mostly empty for 25-plus years.
