Work is moving along on time on construction of the new Jimmie Davis Bridge in south Shreveport-Bossier City.
DOTD Secretary Glenn Ledet tells KEEL News:
We are 2 years into construction on this project. Girder installation is being completed now. For the first time in 6 decades we’ve got a new fully connected structure across the Red River.
Ledet says “this is almost a $400 million dollar project and we’ve got a lot of work that will be happening on the concrete bridge deck over the next weeks and months.”
When Will the New Jimmie Davis Bridge in Shreveport-Bossier Open?
Construction is on schedule at this point and Ledet says “We are on path to be able to drive across the new bridge in the 3rd quarter of 2027. We are working 24/7 on that project and there’s been a lot of progress.”
